(Honesdale, April 16, 2011)
If you’re a Blues fan—think B.B. King, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Bonnie Raitt—the Honesdale Rotary is sure you’ll enjoy Bobby Kyle and his Band. Kyle will show off his signature style on Sunday evening, May 29th, at Rusty Palmer’s on the Texas-Palmyra Highway, Honesdale, to benefit the Rotary and Honesdale EMS.
Kyle’s long career includes playing for seven years with Grammy Award winner Johnny “Clyde” Copeland, until the legendary Blues-man’s death in 1997. Prior to that, Kyle performed for six years with Handy Award winner Eddie Kirkland.
The Handy Award, now called the Blues Music Award, is the genre’s top honor. Kyle performs internationally, but he’s originally from Milford in Pike County. Blues, Brews & BBQ includes six beer tastings (one more than last year), BBQ and specialty sides, non-alcoholic beverages and a gift basket raffle. Tickets are $25 per person. For tickets or more information, visit www.honesdalerotary.com or call (570) 729-7989.
